Shoe Technology Is Taking Off

Technology is no longer in the dark ages. We have the ability, and have been innovating ways, to bring technology into many facets of our daily lives. Whether it’s your smart thermostat in your house, the robots par-oozing the Walmart aisles or the watch on your wrist that reminds you to breathe, technology is everywhere. So if you’re an avid runner, or just simply have a curiosity for what’s new in the tech world, these are the major tech products to look out for in the shoe world.

Energysole by MegaComfort: The owner of this company, Dr. Kevin Orvitz, made a huge change to his product when he realized how off and inaccurate step counting watches are. Dr. Orvitz added sensors to his insoles to make step counting much more accurate for those looking to track their daily walking or running goals. The sensors feed data to a connected app, which you can download onto your smartphone, and they give a breakdown of tons of factors about your step count and more.

Sensoria Smart Running Shoe: These shoes not only have sensors to track your activity, they come with an app and a personal digital trainer to help push and motivate you to achieve your fitness goals. This shoe is looking to prevent injury by allowing the digital trainer to tell you, over your headphones, how to adjust your form so that you don’t injure yourself.

Smartshoe by DigitSole: These shoes actually ‘tie’ themselves. Similar to the doors on a Ferrari, these shoes literally close themselves. They also come with a personal assistant who will help you track your goals and step count.
