Looking for a vacation to get away from people? The Henn-na Hotel in Japan may be the best place for you to stay. 90 percent of their staff is computerized robots, so the chance you’ll run into an annoying concierge worker is nigh impossible.
As soon as you walk in the doors, you’re greeted by a robot who directs you to two animatronic dinosaurs (because why not?) where you put in your check-in information. The front desk will scan your face, which will act as your key card for your stay. Just look at your door and it will unlock for you.
Once you get in one of the rooms, you’ll have climate-control based on your thermal body temperature readings, and a mini, Alexa-type robot that sits perched on your nightstand to give you information about the hotel, forecasts, news, among other things you can ask it.
Other staff members that are replaced by robots include “porter, wardrobe, and maid services,” but don’t worry that these robots are trying to take your job. It’s more of an attraction for those of us who would love to live in a robotic hotel. And potentially, these Henn-na hotels could be launching worldwide, with the company planning on launching 100 more locations in the coming 5 years.
