We’re running out of random things to shove computers into.

Samsung has recently launched some new products to go along with the Smart Home. You can now purchase the SmartThings Camera, SmartThings Wifi Smart Plug, and the SmartThings Smart Bulb. All three work with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung’s Bixby voice assistants.

The SmartThings Cam costs considerably less than its competitors. It features high definition video, night vision, two-way audio, person detection, and a 145-degree field of view. No subscriptions are needed to use the features provided. A stand is provided so that it can be held, or it can be mounted onto the wall. The video feed can be viewed in the SmartThings mobile app as well as a Samsung TV.

The WiFi Smart Plug is small enough to allow for two of them to fit into one wall outlet. This is typically not possible with most WiFi plugs. It is also less expensive than its competitors and works with Google Assistant and Alexa.

The Smart Bulb is a 9-watt LED light bulb. It has the capability to be dimmed and a strong white color, but it doesn’t have the other shades of white that more expensive light bulbs can provide.

Samsung is committed to continuing its work with the SmartThings platform. The goal is to get as many products as they can to work with each other in the house. An additional goal is to have all of these products linked with different brands. This is a great initiative to get products from various companies blending together.
