Update your Windows before it becomes Wormdows.
Are you still running an older version of Windows? We’re talking about Windows 7 and earlier here, or basically anything outside of Windows 8 and 10. If you are, then you might want to update your OS as soon as possible – that is, if you don’t want to put your PC at risk of getting hacked.
In a recent disclosure to users, Microsoft revealed that older versions of Windows had a serious security vulnerability that increased the users’ chances of getting hacked via RATs or remote access tools. Nicknamed ‘BlueKeep,’ this security vulnerability could “potentially grant hackers full remote access to someone’s PC through Windows’ Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) by using code that exploits the vulnerability.”
BlueKeep was first discovered back in May, after a regular security check at the company. Come May 13, the company had already released patches for all affected devices. Unfortunately, not everyone downloaded the new update. A Wired report revealed that there are still almost a million unpatched systems, though the real number could apparently still be higher.
If you’re one of those people who haven’t updated their OS since forever, now’s probably the best time to upgrade.
