Third planet from the earth, Mars has been invading the talks of the scientific community lately with most of the buzz surrounding a potential mars colony. First off, before we talk about colonization, we have to realize the potential dangers of putting astronauts on Mars. Not only are there heavy dust storms, but there’s also a potential for radiation poisoning. The earth’s atmosphere protects us from spacial radiation, but an atmosphere like that is not present when traveling outside of earth.
While that concept could kill any chance of colonization, let’s look on the bright side. Elon Musk has already begun discussions on colonizing the red planet. Additionally, NASA has launched a slew of projects in hope to test the land on Mars a bit more throughout. And finally, there are plans for an igloo at one of the poles of the planet…
