The internet had its mind blown last week when a Twitter profile named Universal-Sci (@universal_sci) posted a photo depicting a high-definition color photo of Jupiter, as viewed from its South Pole. The photo showed the ‘Red Giant’ in all its round glory. Everything, from the swirling red gases to the planet’s center was shown in HD, leaving the internet gasping in delighted surprise.
The comments expressed a range of emotions, from great admiration to mild interest to jokesters who sought the opportunity to gain some clout.
“Similar,” comments one user who attached a photo of a leker, a crepe-like Indonesian food which does look strangely like the planet’s bottom view.
Another one said, “In India we call it as Dosa,” which is a type of Indian pancake.
“Looks like the world’s coolest marble,” a user commented, to which another user replied, “‘World’s’ uh…”
Now that’s quite entertaining! How about you, what do you think of Jupiter’s south pole view?
