Time to start lining up again, I suppose…
Apple may be gearing up to release two new AirPod models this year, according to prominent Apple analyst, Ming Chi Kuo.
The two models are anticipated to arrive sometime by the end of 2019 or early 2020, reports say. One of these models will apparently showcase a never before seen ‘form factor design’ and will warrant a much higher price tag than the latest second-generation AirPod model. Currently, the new AirPods 2 is a step higher than the original AirPods in terms of specs and battery life, among others.
A report from Bloomberg says that the AirPods will most likely have improved water resistance, though not necessarily complete waterproofing. This simply means that users still won’t be able to submerge the earphones in water, although many people have often complained about forgetting it in the shower or at the pool.
Nevertheless, this innovation will allow the AirPods to resist random splashes of water and raindrops every now and then, allowing owners to ease up a little bit on the wireless earphones.
Other than that, the new AirPods will also apparently include noise-cancellation features to rival those in the market today. The distance from which the AirPods can be listened to using your iPad or iPhone will also be increased for better connectivity, the reports say.
