Apple News+ has officially leveled up with the launch of its newest exclusive game: Emoji Game, a daily brain teaser that combines your love of wordplay, logic, and the internet’s favorite icons—emojis and Apple’s new Genmoji.
Just in time for World Emoji Day, the Emoji Game joins Apple News+’s growing lineup of addictively smart puzzles, which already includes fan favorites like Crosswords, Crossword Mini, Sudoku, and Quartiles. Available now for subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, the new game offers a fresh, playful twist on puzzle-solving—this time with a splash of 🍕, 💡, and maybe even 🤖.
A Game of Emojis, Words, and Wits
Here’s how it works: Each day, players are presented with a set of phrases that can only be completed using the right emojis. But this isn’t your average emoji guessing game. For example, to solve the word appear, you might be given the letters “ap____” and have to drop a pear emoji into place. Sounds simple? Think again. The real challenge lies in deciphering clever clues, spotting hidden meanings, and dragging the correct emoji (or Genmoji!) into the puzzle—all in as few moves as possible.
Each completed phrase counts toward your daily score, with six moves being the perfect run. Leaderboards track your streaks, let you compare scores with friends, and celebrate those all-star emoji whisperers who really know their 🍐 from their 🤓.
Now Featuring Genmoji—Because Apple
What makes this game extra special? It’s the first Apple News+ puzzle to feature Genmoji, Apple’s new AI-generated custom emojis created with Apple Intelligence. That means even more expressive and unique symbols to solve with—like blending a tomato emoji and a custom Genmoji blender to get the word purée. Talk about next-level creativity.
