Apple still hasn’t gotten out of the online controversy it got itself into after news of its easily bendable 2018 iPad Pros circulated around social media. In order to put a stop to all the complaints they’ve been receiving, Apple has launched a new support page that specifically explains the manufacturing process of the iPad Pros.
The support page is entitled, “iPad Pro Unibody Enclosure Design”, and lays out in full detail the step-by-step process that each iPad Pro goes through before making its way to the hands of the consumers.
Most of the complaints regarding the bending issue seem to be focused on the WiFi + Cellular variant of the 2018 iPad Pro, which features an antenna line at the uppermost part of the device. Apple addresses this with an explanation, “The new straight edges and the presence of the antenna splits may make subtle deviations in flatness more visible only from certain viewing angles that are imperceptible during normal use.” They then try to reassure the consumers that “these small variances do no affect the strength of the enclosure or the function and will not change over time through normal use.”
While many people don’t appear to be particularly comforted or satisfied by these statements, it’s important to note that Apple does offer a 14-day-return policy for those who may want to get their iPads checked. Their support channels are also open for any inquiries and concerns, especially regarding this issue.
