Now we can find out who’d win in a fight between Robocop and the Terminator.
Since its release last year, Mortal Kombat 11 has received a slew of new characters, as well as regularly changing towers and tournaments. It’s always fun to hear the new characters’ various quips and cracks; if you haven’t heard the Joker’s stuff yet, it’s hilarious. However, contrary to what their track record with the last two Mortal Kombat games may imply, Netherrealm Studios isn’t stopping with just characters this time.
Netherrealm and Warner Bros. Interactive announced today that Mortal Kombat 11 would be receiving a massive content expansion titled “Aftermath,” which includes three new characters, three new skin packs, and most interestingly, a new cinematic story mode expansion that picks up right after the main game’s story ends. No spoilers if you haven’t finished it yet; let’s just say the time shenanigans are going to get even more shenanigan-y.
The new characters for this pack will be wind god Fujin, Shokan queen Sheeva, and, for our guest character, the one and only Robocop, here to take you dead or alive (most likely dead, considering the game). No specifics on the character skins yet, but if you pre-order the Aftermath pack, you’ll get “Eternal Klash” skins for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Frost.
If you’re a Mortal Kombat alumnus who was disappointed about a few features being missing from the base game, there’s some additional good news: stage Fatalities and Friendships will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in a free update on May 26, along with some new stages. If you’ve had your fill of ultra-violence for the day, just have Scorpion hug a big ol’ teddy bear.
Aftermath will be available on May 26 as both a standalone pack and as part of a complete “Kollection,” which includes the expansion, the base game, and the full Kombat Pack.
