Experience the future of fast with drone deliveries taking off in DFW.
Big news for Dallas-Fort Worth residents! Wing, the drone delivery service from Alphabet, has expanded its partnership with DoorDash to offer food deliveries by air. Starting today, customers in the Metroplex can have their meals delivered via drone, and they’ll be enjoying their food in as little as 15 minutes.
Customers in the area can now order from 50 popular restaurants located at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and Hulen Mall in Fort Worth. With drones flying at speeds of 65 mph and cruising at 150 feet, deliveries will be faster than ever.
To take advantage of this high-flying service, all you need to do is place an order through the DoorDash app. If you live in an eligible area, you’ll now see the option for drone delivery. You can check if your address qualifies on Wing’s website. While smaller orders are more likely to be delivered by drone, don’t worry if your meal is larger—it might arrive in multiple drone deliveries.
This new service follows the success of a similar pilot project launched in Virginia earlier this year. Wing and DoorDash have been working together since 2022, when they first launched drone deliveries in Australia. Wing, which has been delivering in the U.S. since 2019, has already completed over 400,000 deliveries worldwide.
