Elevate Your Gaming Experience with Seamless Remote Play and Immersive Entertainment

Sony Interactive Entertainment is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of a groundbreaking innovation in gaming technology — the PlayStation Portal remote player. This highly anticipated handheld device is set to revolutionize the way players experience their favorite PS5 games, offering seamless remote play and an immersive gaming experience like never before.

The PlayStation Portal is designed to provide gamers with the ultimate convenience and flexibility, allowing them to stream their PS5 games over Wi-Fi. With an impressive eight-inch LCD screen boasting a stunning 1080p resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second, players will be fully immersed in their gaming worlds. The device’s portability and sleek design make it the perfect companion for on-the-go gaming, while its competitive price point of $199.99 ensures accessibility for all gaming enthusiasts.

One of the standout features of the PlayStation Portal is its ability to connect remotely to the PS5 over Wi-Fi, enabling players to effortlessly transition between gaming on their PS5 console and the handheld device. Supported games that are installed on the PS5 console can be played on the PlayStation Portal, utilizing the iconic DualSense controllers that offer adaptive triggers and haptic feedback for an unparalleled gaming experience.

Moreover, the PlayStation Portal isn’t just limited to gaming. The device offers media playback capabilities, featuring a dedicated section on the homescreen mirroring the user’s PS5 media content. Although local gameplay is not supported, the PlayStation Portal requires a minimum internet connection speed of 5Mbps, with Sony recommending 15Mbps for optimal performance.

It’s important to note that the PlayStation Portal is not compatible with Sony’s upcoming cloud streaming service for PS5 games. Rather, the device is designed to enable remote play of games already installed on the user’s PS5 console, providing a personalized and flexible gaming experience.

Innovative wireless technology takes center stage with the PlayStation Portal. While lacking Bluetooth functionality, the device employs a proprietary wireless technology known as PlayStation Link.

While the precise battery life of the PlayStation Portal is still being fine-tuned, it’s expected to be comparable to the DualSense controller, lasting around seven to nine hours. The official release date of the PlayStation Portal is yet to be confirmed, but industry insiders speculate a November launch, just in time for the holiday season.
