‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ may not have won Game of the Year at The Game Awards, but it is clearly the hottest game on the market right now.
The numbers are out for the PlayStation Store’s top ten best-sellers, and when it comes to ‘Most PS4 Downloads’ the epic western came out on top. Coming in second place is ‘Call of Duty : Black Ops 4.’ The Game Awards’ Game of the Year winner, ‘God of War,’ came in seventh place.
‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ received tremendous critical and commercial acclaim. Upon release, ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ had the biggest three-day opening of all time in regards to video games, pulling in $725 million in several days. This achievement could very well be the biggest three-day opening ever, entertainment genre notwithstanding.
‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ has already outsold its predecessors in less than two weeks, and it will be interesting to see where the game will fare on the list of best-selling games of all time. It is currently not even in the top 20 at the moment, but these lists go by units sold, not revenue. Given that the game has been out for less than two months, top 30 best-selling of all time isn’t bad.
