The Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas this year showcased the latest technological innovations of the world– some of which may be coming sooner than you expect. Apart from the big players in the field like Samsung and Amazon, CES 2019 also featured a lot of aspiring startups that are all aiming to change the way our world works, one tech invention at a time.
There was a machine that allows you to fold your shirts and other laundry items automatically, just by placing them inside. It can’t fold your sheets yet, but even that’s amazing enough. Smart home appliances are also getting smarter and smarter. There was a smart app that goes with your smart refrigerator that can detect if you’re all out of beer and even order you a six-pack.
A QLED 8K screen was also revealed at the convention, overshadowing last year’s impressive 4K displays. Screens that are “bigger, better, and brighter” were also featured, with Samsung releasing a massive 219-inch TV display. Of course, one of the main highlights of the event was 5G technology, which is expected to come out later this year. In fact, smartphone companies are now scrambling to reign supreme in the 5G run.
Technology in healthcare also made some appearances, with a face mask that can control snoring, a wristwatch that can take your blood pressure in seconds, and a sensor that can monitor your bladder. If this annual trade show is a good reflection of the world’s future in tech, then it seems like we’re in for a very bright future indeed.
