Apple News+ is off to a bit of a shaky start.
Apple has launched its very own subscription-based news service, Apple News+, but unfortunately for the tech giant, it’s not going well. Within just a few days of its launch, subscribers are already taking to social media to complain about the Apple News+ app repeatedly crashing upon booting up.
For some users, the crash happens after a few minutes of browsing the app, without warning or obvious cause. However, many users are saying that it happens right after launching the app, even if they still haven’t done anything. Apparently, it crashes without allowing the users to click or select anything, which renders the app practically useless.
The error also happens on all sorts of Apple devices running iOS. In fact, some are saying that the crash happened right after they updated to iOS 12.2. Apple has since sent out a patch to fix the issue. So far, there are no mentions yet of the updated app crashing again.
Considering that Apple News+ costs $9.99 per month for subscriptions after the initial one month trial, Apple should definitely maintain the app better if they want to retain existing users after the trial period and gain more subscribers.
