Following tech trends ain’t cheap, but Apple might have a solution.
Apple products, while sleek and stylish, have a nasty habit of being prohibitively expensive. The newest iPhone, with all the fixings, can run you over a grand, and I sure don’t have that kind of money to drop on a smartphone. Apple, despite being the progenitor of this situation, might have a compromise in the pipeline for those who want an iPhone but don’t want to spend iPhone money.
Rumors from industry experts have begun circulating that Apple is working on a budget iPhone, allegedly named the SE 2. Assuming it’s real, this handset would cost around $399, and could be released as early as next year. One expert who has successfully sniffed out Apple developments in the past, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims that the SE 2 would feature the same A13 chip found in all models of the iPhone 11 at the cost of some RAM and a smaller display. Ideally, this means this phone could hold its own in the important smartphone areas; it just wouldn’t be able to handle anything too processor heavy.
Kuo is ballparking the SE 2’s release in the early months of 2020, possibly around March. If you’ve been hankering for an iPhone but couldn’t afford it, this could be an attractive option.
