Big news for mobile creators: Adobe is officially bringing its flagship video editing app, Premiere, to the iPhone. The app has already popped up on the App Store with pre-orders open and a launch date set for September 30.
This new version of Premiere is designed to give iPhone users a powerful editing experience on the go—without the usual compromises. Adobe says users will be able to trim, layer, and fine-tune clips with familiar desktop-level tools, all while exporting watermark-free videos straight from their phone. For creators chasing high-quality visuals, the app also supports 4K HDR.
But what really sets Premiere for iPhone apart is the infusion of AI magic. Powered by Adobe’s Firefly models, the app will let users generate images, sound, or even short video snippets using simple text prompts. It also includes automatic captions with customizable subtitles, plus an “Enhance Speech” feature that helps clean up background noise when filming in noisy environments.
On top of that, creators will get access to Adobe’s stock library, which includes music, sound effects, photos, graphics, and video assets. Fonts and presets from Lightroom are also baked in, making it easy to add a professional polish to quick edits.
Premiere for iPhone will be free to download and use, though extra AI credits and cloud storage will come at a cost. For Android users, Adobe has confirmed a version is in the works, though there’s no release date yet.
This move comes as the competition for mobile creators heats up. With platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts dominating online video, tools for fast, high-quality editing are in high demand. Other players like Meta’s Edits app and the freemium Captions app have already stepped into the space, but Adobe is betting on the strength of its brand and AI-powered tools to win over creators.
Premiere’s arrival on iPhone follows Adobe’s broader push into mobile creativity. The company released Photoshop for iOS earlier this year and rolled out Firefly as a standalone app across iOS and Android in June. With Premiere joining the lineup, it’s clear Adobe wants to be the go-to creative toolbox—whether you’re editing on a desktop or just your phone.
