YouTube Solving Inappropriate Content Problem

YouTube is finally putting a stop to the rampant inappropriate content going around the video streaming site, according to DigitalTrends.

YouTube rolled out some changes this week to its strike system for content creators who upload content that goes against the website’s policies and guidelines. YouTube has also been trying to clarify the consequences for uploading such inappropriate content, which some content creators don’t seem to be well aware of.

These changes are YouTube’s response to allegations and reports of possible child exploitation as seen in some videos’ comment sections. The videos usually feature children or minors.

The site has been getting ad partnerships revoked after reports of its content involving minors were reported by Wired magazine. Some of the companies that have pulled their ads include AT&T, Nestlé, and Disney.

One YouTuber named Matt Wilson spoke about a so-called “soft-core pedophile ring” on the platform that shared links, messages, and even contact information to other people in the comment sections of videos featuring minors, especially little girls.
