Got any money leftover from Black Friday? Yeah, we’ll see about that.
Black Friday may be the official shopping day of the winter season, but the actual holiday sales on the digital gaming storefronts are too much of a tradition to pass up. It’s that magical time of year where our Steam libraries fill up with oodles of games that we probably won’t get around to playing any time soon, if at all. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Hot on the heels of the autumn sale, Steam’s Winter Sale 2019 is in full swing, with deals equal to or better than the ones exhibited on Black Friday. If you read our article on the autumn sale, pretty much all of those deals are once again in effect, but for variety’s sake, here’s a few more picks.
Disco Elysium – $31.99
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age – $29.99
Hollow Knight – $7.49
BattleBlock Theater – $2.99
Red Dead Redemption 2 – $47.99
Steam’s sale lasts until January 2. As usual, buying games and going through discovery queues will earn you trading cards, as well as points that can be used for new emoticons and coupons. However, Steam isn’t the only one on the field this time. The Epic Games Store has their own sale going on with discounts of up to 75%. Additionally, every purchase of $14.99 or more nets you a free $10 coupon, and using that coupon on another game at least $14.99 will net you another coupon until the end of the sale. Plus, they’re giving away one free game every day, no strings attached. At time of writing, the free game is Ape Out, which will cycle on the 24th at 11:00 AM eastern time. Based on the hint on the free game page, I’d surmise the next free game will be Celeste. Epic’s sale will end on New Year’s Day.
