Persona 5 Possibly Coming to Switch in 2019

For fans of the ‘Persona’ series, you just might be able to play your favorite JRPG series on the go!

After the revelation that Joker from ‘Persona 5’ is a guest character in ‘Super Smash Bro. Ultimate,’ fans began wondering if they’d ever see the Phantom Thieves on the Nintendo Switch. The answer: eh… maybe?

In a recent interview with IGN, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime neither confirmed nor denied that ‘Persona 5’ may appear on the Nintendo Switch in the future. He did however state:

“We want all the best content on our platform. All the best content, all the best developers. And so our job is to continue growing the install base for Nintendo Switch to drive engagement of our players, to grow the audience. As that happens, then developers see the opportunity.”

It just so happens that the ‘Persona’ series is considered one of the greatest JRPG series of all time. So, I’d say that it fits the bill, no? So while I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high just yet, I wouldn’t say to give up hope either.

All in all, it’s amazing the kinds of titles that you can have in your pocket, thanks to the Nintendo Switch. From ‘Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus,’ ‘Fortnite,’ and ‘Skyrim,’ to the upcoming ‘Mortal Kombat 11,’ and possibly ‘Persona 5.’ Gaming on the go has never been better.
