Google is making TV time a whole lot smarter. Starting today, its powerful AI assistant, Gemini, is rolling out to Google TV—inviting viewers to chat with their television in natural, free-flowing conversations.
With more than 300 million active Google TV and Android TV OS devices worldwide, Gemini’s arrival marks a major expansion for the AI, which until now has mostly lived on phones and the web. Now, it’s stepping into the living room to make everyday entertainment easier, more personal, and—yes—more fun.
Imagine this: can’t remember the name of that action movie you loved last summer? Gemini can help. Arguing with your partner about what to watch? Ask Gemini to suggest something you’ll both enjoy. Want a quick recap of a past season before diving into the latest one? Gemini’s got you covered. And because it’s Gemini, the possibilities go far beyond TV. Families can turn to it for homework help, vacation planning, or even learning new skills—all from the biggest screen in the house.
Importantly, all the classic voice commands you know and love from Google Assistant are still sticking around. Gemini simply adds a new layer of intelligence, creativity, and versatility on top.
The rollout begins today with the TCL QM9K series. Later this year, Gemini will come to the Google TV Streamer; Walmart onn 4K Pro; 2025 Hisense U7, U8, and UX models; and 2025 TCL QM7K, QM8K, and X11K models. More updates and features are on the way as Gemini settles into its new home on your TV.
Looks like the couch just became the smartest seat in the house.
