Google has officially lifted the curtain on its next-generation foldable, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, at the Made by Google 2025 event—and it’s easily the company’s boldest foldable yet. Priced at $1,799, this powerhouse blends futuristic design, a smarter hinge, and a hefty dose of AI magic thanks to the all-new Tensor G5 chip.
A Fold Built to Last
One of the standout upgrades is the gearless hinge, a clever redesign that makes the fold more durable and allows for slimmer bezels. Google claims the hinge is twice as tough as last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold and is built to survive 10+ years of daily folding—a huge confidence boost for anyone nervous about long-term durability.
On the outside, users get a 6.4-inch display, while unfolding reveals the largest screen ever on a foldable: a stunning 8-inch Super Actual Flex panel. This inner screen is crafted with ultra-thin glass and dual anti-impact layers to better handle accidental drops. Both displays are now brighter—up to 3,000 nits peak brightness—making outdoor use a lot easier.
Oh, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is finally IP68 water- and dust-resistant, a long-awaited upgrade that brings peace of mind.
Smarter Power and Battery
Inside, the foldable packs 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, paired with the new Tensor G5 processor. This chip is a big leap forward, with a 34% faster CPU and a 60% stronger TPU for AI performance. It’s also the first to run Google’s Gemini Nano model, unlocking more than 20 new AI-driven tricks like Magic Cue, Daily Hub, and Camera Coach.
Battery life is equally impressive: the phone can run for up to 30 hours on a charge, and thanks to fast charging, it hits 50% in just 30 minutes. For the first time, it also supports Qi2 wireless charging with Google’s new Pixelsnap accessories—think a magnetic charger that works even while the phone is unfolded or a ring stand for easy hands-free streaming.
Cameras Get Smarter Too
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold keeps Google’s camera-first reputation alive. It sports a 48 MP wide lens, an ultrawide with Macro Focus, and a 5x telephoto with Super Res Zoom up to 20x. Whether it’s close-ups, selfies with the rear camera, or zoom shots, this setup is designed for versatility.
Two new features stand out:
-
Instant View, which lets you review photos side by side on the unfolded screen the moment you take them.
-
Dual Screen Preview, so your friends can see themselves while posing before the shot.
Foldable Fun Beyond Photos
Google also leaned into productivity and entertainment. The new Split Screen mode makes multitasking more natural, letting users resize apps on the fly or drag content—like dropping a link from Chrome into a chat. Gamers get a bonus too: the outer display doubles as a game controller, bringing more immersive play to titles like Asphalt Legends. Streaming apps such as Netflix and Disney+ are optimized for that big inner display, turning the phone into a pocket-sized cinema.
The Rest of the Pixel 10 Lineup
Alongside the Fold, Google introduced the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, all powered by the Tensor G5. The base Pixel 10 finally gets a triple-camera setup with a telephoto lens, while the Pro models see upgraded sensors and brighter Actua displays. Prices remain familiar: $799 for the Pixel 10, $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro, and $1,199 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Preorders Are Open
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes in Moonstone and Jade, and is available for preorder starting today. It officially hits shelves on October 9.
