Virtual Reality Rehabilitation Program

   

Virtual reality is known for being utilized for enhancing entertainment experiences, but is now being used for addiction rehabilitation patients.

Many who have suffered the affliction of addition have sought help from rehabilitation facilities, with many re-lapsing and not maintaining results. Using VR for an immersive rehabilitation therapy has shown successful results and patients maintaining sobriety.

The compulsory rehab program patients are subjected images with sound, exposing the reality of addiction that the patients cannot escape or look away. This new form of rehabilitation has shown a 75 percent success rate and has reduced patients’ urge for addictive drugs.

This new method can also be used as an alternative to imprisonment to receive treatment and offering previous patients of rehab a new method of treatment. VR has also been used for other rehabilitation methods including physical therapy and pain management.
