Popular dating app Tinder has just added a new feature to its matchmaking service.

Thanks to the new feature called Orientation, users can now add their sexual orientation to their profile in order to make dating easier right from the get-go. The new feature arrived just in time for Pride Month.

Previously, users could only add their gender and the gender that they’re looking for. Now, they can choose not just one, but three sexual orientations for their profile. There are a total of 8 options to choose from: straight, gay, asexual, bisexual, demisexual, pansexual, queer, and questioning. It’s absolutely not required and even those who choose three can opt not to show them publicly on their bio.

The new feature is not just for users to better identify themselves, of course. It can also be used to prioritize potential matches based on sexual orientations, which means that those with matching orientation preferences have a much higher chance of seeing each others’ profiles.

Also, one of the biggest changes that come with this new feature is that now, users can see both men and women in their queue, unlike before when they can only select which one they best prefer to see.

This may be a small change, but it’s a big step towards inclusivity, especially in the dating scene.
