Get ready for the wildest crossover since… probably the history of video games. In an unexpected announcement for Tekken 7’s newest DLC, a surprise character was named for the roster. As past of the Season 2 Pass, players will gain access to a few new characters, but the one that sent the internet into a frenzy was Negan from AMC’s hit TV show, The Walking Dead.
For those unaware, Negan is one of the most notorious villains of the series who wields a baseball bat ridden in barbed wire named “Lucille.” His character is known to have done some extremely shocking damage to the main characters of the show. Teased through character art in a reveal trailer, everyone exploded in shock to see a character of his brutality and pop culture fame sliding his way into a fighting game like Tekken. Some players even took to Twitter, claiming Negan “is more fit for Mortal Kombat” due to his overly violent nature.
While there is no official word on when the DLC Season Pass will be available, the developers claimed it was “coming soon.” Meanwhile, we also have Season 9 of The Walking Dead television show, which is going to introduce a new group of villains for the group to face known as The Whisperers. This cult of crazies have taken it upon themselves to wear the skin of the undead to blend in, ensuring the show will return to its horror roots. Season 9 is set to premiere this October.
