The 2019 iPad Mini: What’s New

Improvements are coming to all of Apple’s products, and the iPad Mini is no exception.

The 2019 version of the iPad Mini comes with numerous enhancements that will be very beneficial to users. It sports a 7.9-inch screen, a bit small by today’s standards but still perfectly alright, and weighs just 0.66 pounds. And while it doesn’t have an edge-to-edge screen like many other latest-generation Apple products out today, the 2019 iPad Mini’s display still looks impressive. Text and images look amazingly sharp and crisp thanks to its 500-nit, 2,048 x 1,536 resolution screen. One of the enhancements in terms of display is that the iPad Mini is now supporting wide color gamut, which makes colors more vibrant and eye-popping. It also comes with True Tone display to help users’ eyes adjust depending on the environment.

Meanwhile, under the hood, the iPad Mini looks almost unrecognizable. It now has the A12 Bionic processor which gives it plenty of power that can knock out even some of the more expensive tablets available now, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Its camera was also upgraded to an 8MP lens for the main camera and 7MP for the front camera. Camera quality is not so bad, but it’s definitely nothing amazing.

Lastly, if you’re interested in using the Apple Pen, you can now try it out on the newest iPad Mini. It now comes with Pen support, so you’re free to draw or scribble any time you please.

Prices start $400 for the 64GB base version, while the 256GB version costs $549. Shipping has begun, so if you want to order it from Apple, you can do so right here.
