‘Street Fighter V’ Will Be Free For a Limited Time

If you’re not getting Mortal Kombat 11, here’s something fun to do.

Capcom has some great news for fighting game fans. Starting today, Street Fighter V will be made free-to-play for about two weeks, ending on May 5th, 2019. The game was first released in 2016 as the fifth major installment in Capcom’s iconic Street Fighter series. It features cross-play between two devices, namely PC and PlayStation 4.

For a period of two weeks, Capcom is giving players a chance to try out the game and play its various game modes. Players can also check out all the content from the original Street Fighter V as well as the new modes from the Arcade Edition of the game.

Players can choose from the 16 original characters, which includes Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and M. Bison, among others. Capcom also included the four DLC characters, Akuma, Blanka, Juri, and Menat, as an added bonus. The latter four will be available in the following modes: Ranked, Casual, Battle Lounge, Training, and Challenges.

Currently, Street Fighter V has mixed reviews on Steam and mixed to positive reviews at Metacritic. If you’re interested in playing, you can download the game either on PS4’s PS store or on Steam for the PC version. Do take note that you’ll need a subscription to PS Plus if you would like to play online using a PS4.

The good thing about this is that if you end up buying the game after playing all the DLC characters, you’ll be able to keep the progress you made during the free-to-play period.
