With Telltale Games’ dissolution, fans have been uncertain about the future of The Walking Dead‘s final season. There was supposed to be a skeleton crew of around 25 employees to finish things off, but sadly, those employees have been laid off as well. Telltale no longer has the manpower to finish the game. Good thing the creator of The Walking Dead has his own media company.
Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead‘s original comic book series and owner of Skybound Media, announced at New York Comic Con that his company has taken up ownership of the game and will be finishing it. Members of Telltale’s team will be brought on to work in conjunction with Skybound’s gaming department, Skybound Games, all in an effort to give fans of the series the ending that Kirkman believes they deserve. The Skybound Twitter stated that more details will be coming soon, and that they wanted to wrap up Clementine’s story right.
