Samsung Announces New Gaming Display at CES 2019

Samsung has unveiled a couple of new offerings in the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019.

Serious gamers would likely be most interested in the CRG9, which according to Samsung is the first of its kind. The monitor is equipped with a 32:9 aspect ratio and has a high-resolution super ultra-wide screen that’s perfect for gaming.

To add to that, the CRG9 also has a 120Hz refresh rate with a 4ms response time. It also has the Radeon FreeSync HDR Technology from AMD to lessen screen tearing, stutter, and input latency to improve frame rates. The display is meant to minimize, if not outright remove, the motion blur and lag that can come when playing fast-paced games. Resolution-wise, the CRG9 has a dual QHD resolution of 5120 x 1440. It’s equal to about two 27-inch monitors with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It can also support HDR10 and can go up to a brightness of 1000 nits.

When it comes to ports, Samsung’s latest gaming display isn’t lacking either. The tech company has made sure that it has sufficient ports, with one HDMI port, two display ports, three USB ports, and one headphone jack.

No news with regards to its pricing is available as of the moment.
