Reggie Fils-Aime Teases ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ DLC Characters

Doing what he does best, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime has been teasing fans on DLC characters next to appear in ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.’

As explained in the reveal of the Fighters Pass in the last ‘Ultimate’ Nintendo Direct, five standard DLC guest characters will be coming to the game over the next year-and-change. The first DLC character was revealed at The Game Awards last week, and came completely out of left field: Joker from ‘Persona 5.’

President Reggie Fils-Aime talked about future DLC for ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,’ stating that “each character will come with a stage and a collection of music,” making them well worth the price for paying them. He went on to say that the net for guest characters was cast “very, very, wide”.

Joker was a completely unexpected, albeit pleasant surprise, and shows that Fils-Aime wasn’t kidding about that wide net. It’s got gamers wondering who would be coming to Smash next. Kazuma Kiryu or Goro Majima from the ‘Yakuza’ series? Dante from ‘Devil May Cry?’ Sony has been on a PlayStation Platformer remake frenzy, why not show Nintendo some love by having Spyro the Dragon or Crash Bandicoot join the fight?

Speculation is half the fun, and fans will have plenty of time wondering who Nintendo will add to Smash next. In the meantime, make sure you register your copy of ‘Ultimate’ before January 30, 2019, so you can unlock Piranha Plant, and stay tuned for the release of Joker!
