Portable Robot Kills Germs And Disinfects Hotel Rooms

There’s a new portable cleaning robot that travelers high and low are going to love instantly.

Meet the CleanseBot, an automated smart cleaning and disinfecting portable robot. CleanseBot emits UV-C light that can apparently kill up to 99.9 percent of germs without having to use dangerous and toxic chemicals. The CleanseBot was made with travelers in mind, with the robot conveniently small enough to fit in one’s hand. It can be used in either handheld mode or can travel around on its own through the use of sensors.

CleanseBot’s head of marketing, Jyssica Schwartz, explained the portable robot’s two modes to Digital Trends. “In ‘Under Blanket’ mode, CleanseBot will roll around and sanitize and disinfect sheets and blankets on its own. In ‘Handheld’ mode, you can pick it up and sanitize your cell phone, your kid’s toys, light switches, toilet seats, kitchen counters — anything you want. It also has a ‘PowerBank’ mode; we have a 3700 mAh battery in it and a USB charging port, so it also acts as a portable charger.”

The portable robot has already reached its $3000 funding goal on Kickstarter, going over by more than $1,184,000. The first batch of products are estimated to be delivered by April 2019.
