‘Pokémon Go’ Fest Receives Official Start Date

Grab your walking shoes and catching gloves, ’cause you’ll be doing a lot of both.

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced the official dates for the Pokémon Go Fest 2019 scheduled later this year.

The Pokémon Go Fest is a 4-day-event that aims to combine the fun of the hit AR game, Pokémon Go, and real life interactivity using physical installations located within the different venues. The event also hopes to connect players together through various exclusive events.

This year, the event will be held in three different venues, namely Chicago, Dortmund Germany, and another unannounced city in Asia. It’s the first year that the event will be spread out across three locations, as Chicago had been the only venue for the past two years. Due to this, the series of events for this year will be officially called the Pokémon Go Summer Tour.

The first of the series will be held on June 13-16th in Chicago’s Grant Park, where the first event was also held two years ago. The second will be held on July 4-7th in Westfalenpark in Dortmund, Germany, the same park where the two-day Pokémon Go Safari Zone event was held last year. As for the third one, Niantic and The Pokémon Company have not yet released the dates or the exact venue.

Interested goers to the Chicago event can buy the tickets using the new ticketing system that will be accessible within the Pokémon Go app later this month. More information is also available on the Pokémon Go website. The Dortmund event, meanwhile, has its own website.
