Pikachu has accrued quite a bit of holiday/special costumes since the launch of ‘Pokemon Go’ back in 2016. Pikachu has everything ranging from party hats to summer hats and shades, to Halloween and Christmas-themed costumes.
The Santa Hat Pikachu is expected to return soon, but in addition to that, a data mine has revealed that the electric mouse Pokemon’s evolved form, Raichu, will be getting two new special costumes. Courtesy of the ‘Pokemon Go’ dataminer Charles, the first costume appears to be Raichu wearing pink flowers on its head. Summer is a long way off, so this one is a bit odd. However, some have theorized that this is related to the legendary Pokemon Shaymin. Shaymin is a Generation 4 Legendary, and also sports a pink flower in its bush on top of its head.
The second costume is far more seasonal, which shows Raichu wearing a cute winter wool hat. This may be the 2018 Christmas costume variant for Pikachu (or at least a Pikachu variant) and is likely to show up alongside the classic Santa Hat Pikachu.
There’s been no release date for the new costumes yet, but with less than three weeks to go in December, we should expect at least the winter wool hat variant costume to be out soon.
