PlayStation Classic Game List Revealed

Last month, when Sony announced their own take on the popular trend of throwback consoles, the PlayStation Classic, they only revealed a handful of the PlayStation games that would be loaded onto it. Fans have been speculating on the list and asking Sony to give them the full lineup, but Sony has remained completely silent. That is, until now. Today, Sony has officially released the full list of the 20 games to be featured on the PlayStation Classic. They are as follows, in alphabetical order:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Mr Driller
  • Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
  • Rayman
  • Resident Evil Director’s Cut
  • Revelations: Persona
  • Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tekken 3
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
  • Twisted Metal
  • Wild Arms

There are some expected inclusions on this list such as Final Fantasy VVI, Twisted Metal, and Resident Evil, as well as some curveballs like Jumping Flash and the original Persona (which I sincerely hope is not the original localized version, because it’s a mess). Some fans have expressed disappointment about certain games being omitted such as Parappa the Rapper, Tomba, and the Crash Bandicoot games, but overall, reception to this news has been positive. You can make your own judgement when the console releases on December 3rd for $99.99.
