Netflix Daredevil Series Cancelled

Netflix’s ‘Daredevil,’ the highly-acclaimed streaming show that started the Netflix Marvel universe, has been cancelled.

Netflix announced that ‘Daredevil’ will not be getting a fourth season, and that the show has been officially cancelled. Fans, in a word, are shocked.

Out of all the Marvel shows on Netflix, the general consensus has been that ‘Daredevil’ is the best show (with ‘The Punisher’ not far behind), so its cancellation comes as a surprising move. When ‘Luke Cage’ and ‘Iron Fist’ were cancelled last month, it wasn’t that much of a blow for two reasons. For starters, the first season of ‘Iron Fist’ is the most critically panned season out of the Netflix bunch. The second season was much improved, but ‘Iron Fist’ being cancelled wouldn’t have come as much of a surprise to anyone.

‘Luke Cage’s’ first season was well-received, and the second season was considered pretty good as well, albeit not nearly as good as the first. Iron Fist makes appearances in the show, and his portrayal was praised and it seemed that Danny Rand had finally won over the fans.

Luke Cage and Danny Rand are very close in the comics, and may fans speculated that Iron Fist and Luke Cage were cancelled to make way for a ‘Heroes For Hire’ series. That remains to be seen. But as to why ‘Daredevil’ was cancelled, that is anyone’s guess.

Netflix has assured fans that despite the cancellation of his show, fun adventures for the Man Without Fear will still be happening in Netflix’s future. It’s unclear at this time if that means he will make appearances in ‘The Punisher’ or ‘Jessica Jones’ (The only two shows left), or if he will get his own Netflix movie.

The loss of a fantastic show is always a bummer, but at least we know that he will still be sticking around to some degree.
