Microsoft’s Windows 10 Now Has 800 Million Users

Microsoft is celebrating a major milestone for its Windows 10 operating system. As of yesterday, Windows 10 has been installed on more than 800 million devices all over the world.

As some of you may remember, it was in September of 2018 when Microsoft announced reaching the 700 million user mark for its latest operating system. It was an especially glorious event for Microsoft as it had been stuck on 700 million for quite a while due to problems with the tally system counting Windows 10 installations even on virtual machines, which wasn’t supposed to happen. It was only when this issue was resolved that Microsoft managed to resume its tally again.

Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Modern Life and Devices, shared the happy news to fans and followers via a tweet on March 7th, 2019.

“Thank you to all our customers and partners for helping us achieve 800 million #Windows10 devices and the highest customer satisfaction in the history of Windows,” he said.

Microsoft previously said in 2015 that it was aiming to reach a billion users within two of three years. While the tech giant wasn’t quite able to reach this goal, the future still seems bright for Microsoft.
