League Of Legends Rewrites Its Past

Before Fortnite was around, League of Legends was consistently known as the game with the highest number of players in the world. It’s a game that completely dominated the esports industry, causing it to skyrocket in mainstream popularity. But what is the reason behind League of Legend’s continued success?

The game is constantly trying to be a better version of itself. The most recent example of this is the addition of two new ranked play tiers to help smooth out the competitive climbing aspect of their game. But it isn’t just technical improvements that they make.

Riot Games decided that, this year, they were focusing on revamping old and outdated champions in the game in order to give them a fresh, updated feel that fits with the graphical standards of the current meta. Where Riot went above and beyond was when they decided to not only visually overhaul iconic characters like Nunu and Akali, but they also changed their abilities to make more healthy game mechanics.

The latest champion to get this treatment is Ezreal, a marksman character who has been in the meta game almost every single competitive season. Ezreal has a fresh new look, all of his skins (including the legendary Pulsefire skin) are being redesigned with new models and particles, and Riot finally decided to scrap Ezreal’s boring “W” ability, Essence Flux, into a new skill shot that applies a unique ring to the enemy champion it hits. While the official details have not been revealed, we can’t wait to see the new Ezreal in action!
