Here’s What to Expect from Xbox in 2019

With Sony deciding to skip out of E3 in 2019, and generally being more cryptic about their 2019 plans, it’s good that Microsoft can give some concrete info on what’s in store for Xbox in 2019.

There will be a few console exclusives coming to Xbox One in 2019, the first being ‘Crackdown 3,’ a sequel that comes nine years after the release of ‘Crackdown 2’ and stars Terry Crews. ‘Gears of War 5,’ one of the most iconic franchises of the Xbox, will also be coming to homes in 2019. The next entry in the ‘Halo’ series, ‘Halo Infinite,’ is not expected to drop in 2019, but we should be getting some more detailed information about the game at the very least.

In 2019, Microsoft will be joining the game-streaming service industry, with its own Project xCloud streaming service. This ambitious project, seeks to bring next-gen gaming to every gamer, anytime, anywhere, and on any modern device, be it console, phone, or tablet. The release of 5G service will definitely play a crucial role in making this work. With such lofty goals, there’s no telling how it will function in practice, but in 2019, we are going to find out.

Last but not least, it is expected that Microsoft will be announcing their next-gen console sometime next year. Sony is rumored to be skipping out on E3 in 2019 to focus all efforts of making their next-gen console presentation worthy in 2020. Both the Xbox One and the PS4 are 5 years old now, so it’s right about time for new consoles to take the reigns.
