Google Will Start Deleting Google+ Profiles in April

Google released a statement on Wednesday announcing the deletion of Google+ profiles starting this April 2019.

As some of you may remember, Google had already announced the news of Google+’s death last December, but people did not expect that it was coming so soon. The company points to the social media network’s “low usage” and “challenges involved in maintaining a successful product that meets consumers’ expectations” as the reasons why it’s shutting down the platform.

“On April 2nd, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down and we will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts,” Google said in its official statement. “Photos and videos from Google+ in your Album Archive and your Google+ pages will also be deleted. You can download and save your content, just make sure to do so before April.”

Google also says that users will no longer be able to create new Google+ profiles, pages, communities or events as early as February 4th. Sadly, even blog comments made using Google+ will be deleted.
