Google Maps Pulls Up ‘Snake’ Game For April Fool’s Day

It’s April Fool’s, and Google isn’t shy to whip up a good gag (or game) in honor of the world’s official joke day.

“April Fools! Navigate different cities around the world in this rendition of the classic arcade game Snake,” begins Google’s 2019 gag game, the Google Maps Snake. In this game, users control a ‘snake’ in the shape of a bus or train that explores various cities on the map, picking up passengers along the way.

The goal here is to get longer and longer, just like the original Snake game. This can be done by picking up passengers; the more passengers you pick up, the higher points you earn and the bigger your vehicle gets in size. You can also get bonus points from special items that occasionally appear on the map. These items give you 5-10 additional points instead of the regular 1 point given by passengers.

Players can choose from various locations such as Cairo, London, Sydney, San Francisco, Sao Paolo,  Tokyo, and the World itself. The game is currently available on both Android and iOS for about a week. If you’re still interested in trying it out after that, you can always view it on this website.
