Google Is Going Off The Web

We all spend hours in the Apple store, checking out the newest developments in iTech that we can’t afford. Microsoft followed up with a similar retail setup, which offered demonstrations for their virtual reality, gaming systems, and phone products. On the outside, it looked like a direct clone of the Apple store.

Now, Google has finally decided to bring out their big guns and open up their first retail location in Chicago. This 14,000 square foot space will be transformed into a tech store demonstrating all of Google’s emerging technology at a level that could rival Apple themselves. It all depends on how well they execute the whole of it. Previous to this, Google has only had smaller kiosk businesses within larger technology retailers like Best Buy.

The lease for the location has officially closed, making the space theirs. So what can we expect to be housed in this store? Front and center, there are sure to be Pixel phones, Pixel computers and tablets, as well as their upcoming smartwatch. It was rumored that they could also provide gadgets that run on Chrome or Android operating systems, however those would be set off to the side.

If Google wants to be taken seriously as a technology retailer, they’re going to have be innovative and make sure they don’t just copy and paste Apple’s formula. Let’s be real… how many times have you seen Microsoft stores packed the way that Apple stores are? If Google makes another bland tech store that doesn’t capitalize on their colorful and unique approach to tech, it could very well end up being a waste of space.
