Google Enters the Console War with Stadia Gaming Platform

Last week, Google unveiled its first legitimate gaming initiative, the Stadia.

Google calls this new initiative their very own “Netflix for games” (not to be confused with the one Microsoft’s doing) thanks to its supposed large collection of games that will be available to all users.

Bold claims have been made regarding the future impact of Stadia on the world of gaming. For one, Google says that the Stadia will be the end to physical consoles, promising major changes to the way that games are currently developed, bought, and played. This is because with Stadia, users will be able to access any video game from any device, be it a brand new gaming desktop, an old laptop from your college years, a last-generation smartphone, and even a smart television.

Unlike other gaming platforms, Stadia also has no hardware. Users will be able to jump into a game from any device with no problem. Saving will also no longer be an issue, since Stadia automatically saves files into the cloud.

There are no exact dates yet regarding its actual release, but Google is certain is that it will be released later this year in Canada, United Kingdom, United States, and most European countries.
