Get Ready for ‘Pokemon Go’s’ Two-Week Holiday Festival

It’s Christmas time in ‘Pokemon Go,’ with the holiday events starting on December 18th and running until January 2th. Every day, players can get a one-time use incubator from their first Poke Stop spin. A nice gift, considering that during the event players have an increased chance of hatching baby Pokemon from 7KM eggs. These 7KM can hatch any baby Pokemon in the game thus far, including new additions Chingling, Mantyke, and Munchlax.

The holiday bird Delibird will be making a return to ‘Pokemon Go,’ and if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to catch the Shiny variant of this trophy Pokemon. If you really love Delibird, then you can purchase some Delibird-themed cosmetic items, like a sweater, gloves or boots.

As expected, a festive-hat wearing Pikachu will also be spawning quite a bit throughout the duration of this event. A few new Gen 4 Pokemon have been added to the game as well: Croagunk and Toxicroak, as well as Snover and Abomasnow. Ice-type Pokemon will have increased spawn chances throughout the holidays, so now’s the perfect time to farm up candies for all the Ice-type Pokemon currently in the game.

The most important thing to keep in mind this holiday season are the specific day sub-events. Along with all the good stuff that will be happening for the entire two-week period, there will be four separate limited time sub-events that you will want to keep track of.

From December 18th to December 22nd, players will get twice the amount of candy from catching and transferring Pokemon. That means throughout this four-day period, it’s time to use up all those pinap berries you’ve been storing. From December 22th to December 26th, players will get twice the amount of Stardust from catching Pokemon. From December 26th to December 30th, players will receive double experience from catching Pokemon. Last but not least, from December 30th to January 2nd, eggs will hatch at twice the speed that they normally would. It might be a good idea to hold on to some of those one-a-day free incubators for the home stretch of the event.
