Get A 3-D Body Scan At Home

Naked Labs CEO Farhad Farahbakshian and COO Ed Sclater have the newest form of at home fitness measuring equipment you probably don’t need. Throw away your FitBit and get ready for a full, 3-D scan of your entire body.

Their newest development, a high-tech body scanner, will give you a full representation of your body, including weight, BMI, body fat percentage, and the highlight of it all: an in-depth, three-dimensional look at your muscle and body composition. Naked Labs call this feature the “star of the show” because it personalizes your weight gain/loss and mass building experience as you can see the changes more accurately.

So how does it work? The body scanner will have a built in, full length mirror. When you step on the scale, you will rotate 360 degrees with lasers pointing at you for a 15 second duration as the machine takes the most precise measurements. When its done, the data will be privately downloaded to your device to give you the most accurate fitness model you can receive.

The main issue Naked Labs faced was that, essentially, they’d be scanning your naked body and storing that data. The developers took a cautious approach to make sure every piece of data they accumulate is not owned by the company, nor will it be stored in a cloud where it can be accessed by others. The design is set to appeal more towards fitness junkies rather than the every-day consumer looking to lose weight.

Naked Labs’ at-home body scanner will cost around $1400 dollars and currently, there is no word on when an official release is coming.
