Gaming Outlook: June 2018

While the biggest gaming news of the year won’t be unveiled until E3 takes place from June 12-14th, a taste of what’s to come has been unveiled for us gamers to quench our thirst for news over the next two weeks.

First, Nintendo announced a new cosmetic 2DS XL for all the Zelda fans out there. This stylish blue “Hylian Shield” edition of the handheld console will be a GameStop exclusive available July 2nd at the price point of $159.99. It comes accented to represent Link’s classic shield and will have The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds preinstalled.

Sony also decided to go blue for the summer, with the announcement of their limited edition blue PS4 console for their “Days of Play” event from June 8th-18th. The console sports a golden symbol in the middle, a matching blue controller, and 1 Terabyte of hard drive space. The console is set to be priced at 300 dollars. During “Days of Play,” other popular games will have their price cut to get gamers the best deal possible.

Xbox kept the announcements rolling with their “Games for Gold” promotion for June 2018. This month’s titles include Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, Smite Gold Bundle, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The New Adventures.

Lastly, a new teaser was revealed for Fallout via Twitter AND exciting Pokémon news is set to drop on Japanese television on May 31st. With so much to look forward to, hopefully the announcements at E3 2018 will have just as much hype.
