GameStop Eases Customer Concerns Over Black Friday Order Delays

GameStop had quite a few deals over the Black Friday weekend, and customers couldn’t pass the savings up. Unfortunately, it seems like there have been some delays with Black Friday orders, and GameStop has stepped in to explain before the backlash gets too bad.

GameStop issued a statement on their Twitter page explaining the situation. The statement reads as follows:

“Hey everyone-

We know that there has been some confusion around some orders placed over the Black Friday weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we experienced an unprecedented amount of orders during the weekend and our email notification system has gotten a little backed up. Don’t worry, orders are being processed, even if you have not yet received an email notifying of your shipment. In many cases, the order is already on its way, it’s just our notification system is catching up. So fear not, your order is being processed and shipped, and should arrive on your doorstep soon.”

While this was a pretty good response, one that is sure to ease the worry that some consumers may be feeling, it was not an entirely satisfactory response.

People aren’t just having an issue with not receiving a notification for their orders or not yet receiving their orders; some have received their orders with parts of them missing.

Many of the customers who made purchases with GameStop over Black Friday weekend have been expecting digital gift cards with their orders. These gift cards are supposed to be on the receipt of their order. However, many people are reporting that while they have received their games and/or consoles, the digital gift cards are nowhere to be found.

It seems like GameStop was busier this Black Friday season than they had anticipated and it is coming back to bite them a bit. With the Christmas season around the corner, GameStop should aim to nip this problem in the bud sooner rather than later.
