‘Fortnite’ Update Fixes Long Tournament Wait Times

‘Fortnite’s’ tournament system has been a pain in the llama for many players of the Battle Royale, but the latest update takes strides towards fixing the issue.

‘Fortnite’ players who perform well in tournaments frequently have to deal with absurdly long waiting times before they can get another match. Waiting times vary, but some players have to wait as long as an hour before they can get another match. This issue has mostly affected top players in the game who score a lot of points in tournaments, and it has been all but impossible for them to get games. Some players switch regions in an attempt to get into games quicker, but many who do so suffer from sky-high pings instead of a long waiting queue. Streamers like TSM Daequan have taken to creating entirely new accounts in order to play in tournaments.

Epic Games made an announcement on the official ‘Fortnite’ sub-Reddit of the improvements made to in-game tournament matchmaking time. Initially, Epic Games stated that the top 0.01% (Pros) would still likely be affected, but five hours later, stated in an update that they too should see improvement.

The update couldn’t come at a better time, with the ‘Fortnite’ Winter Royale Tournament just around the corner. The Winter Royale will have $1 million dollars worth of prizes, and nothing would be worse than missing out due to absurd waiting times.
