August Pokémon Go Update

Dying game no more! Pokémon Go is getting a slew of cool new features throughout August, with some already being launched live. Let’s take a deep dive into what you can expect from the mobile app phenomenon.

Spinda
For the first time, trainers can catch the Hoenn native Pokémon Spinda through research tasks. By spinning Pokéstops, you’ll have a change to get the “Make Three Curveballs In A Row” challenge that rewards you with a wild encounter. Make sure to grab your Spindas and fill up that Pokédex!

Lucky Pokémon
Now that its confirmed Lucky Pokémon can only be received through trading, there is a huge trading bonus event going on that nabs you extra experience and a higher chance to receive these shimmering wonders that cost less to power up. Get out there and trade will all your friends!

Eevee Community Day
This is the first time Niantic Labs is introducing a two-day live community day, but that’s probably because of all the different evolutions Eevee can have. As we get closer to the release of Pokémon Let’s Go! Eevee, August 11th and 12th will feature an increase spawn of Eevees knowing the powerful move Last Resort. Plus, you can encounter shiny Eevees, so try and get all shiny variants of the currently available Eevee-lutions.

PvP
While trainer battling with friends is still on the horizon, talks have begun about implementing this long-awaited feature. Stay tuned to find out when this might be launching.
