A Smashing Amount Of Ultimate News

Super Smash Bros. just got a little more Ultimate than it already was. With the highly anticipated brawler launching this December for the Nintendo Switch console, the gaming company released a Nintendo Direct for the game that confirmed and revealed some pretty awesome news.

There were not only five new characters announced to be joining to fight alongside every single character that has previously been in a Smash game, but there are now confirmed to be 103 different stages. Two of the new maps include Dracula’s Castle from Castlevania and New Donk City from Super Mario Odyssey, alongside returning favorites like Pokémon Stadium. The large array of stages is going to very well compliment the huge cast of characters.

Speaking of characters, the reason we are getting a Castlevania stage is because we are getting new characters from the franchise in the forms of Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont (who will be an echo fighter.) We also got the addition of the 67th confirmed character: long awaited, fan favorite King K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country will be smashing his way into the game as well.

In addition to these big names, we have two other echo fighters in the form of Dark Samus and Chrom from Fire Emblem. But those are just minute details to what else was announced: a limited edition form of the game will be released that includes a GameCube controller and an adapter for the Switch, both being Super Smash Bros. themed. The limited edition is set to release alongside the regular game on December 7th, 2018.
